Do you mean loss in value? I don't think any cut suffers a loss in value.

When you say cut I assume you mean type not the quality of the cut. Diamonds are hard to resell to begin with, so have an unpopular cut would make it harder to sell. I would guess heart shape, sounds like a fad cut, that would be tough to resell.
